The Botanical Gardens are located right in San Salvador in the crater of an old, dormant volcano. There are a wide variety of trees, flowers, and animals to explore. The grounds are flat and it is an easy stroll.
Rainbow Slide

The Rainbow Slide is located at Picnic Steakhouse which also offers a carousel and a stunning view of the city of San Salvador and beyond. It's a fun way to tap into your inner child and simply do something for the joy of it.
Tamanique Waterfalls

This is an intense hike. You have to hike down to the waterfalls and then hike back up the mountain. There are several different heights where you can jump right into the waterfall. It is cool and peaceful down at the bottom and we can pack some food and stay as long as you would like.
Feed the Monkeys

This is a short walk to a community of over 35 monkeys. We can bring some bananas and plantains and they will eat right from your hand. This walk is in an area with alligators and beautiful birds and flowers. There is a resort on the river to have lunch and enjoy some time by the pool relaxing. You can also go kayaking here or add a boat tour.
Izalco, Apaneca & Ataco

These mountain towns require a much longer drive of about 3 hours but the sights you will see along the way are beautiful. There is a wide variety of options in this area to explore from active volcanoes to waterfalls and beautiful gardens and street markets.
Cacao Farm Tour

We aren't too far from one of the largest cacao plantations in all of Central America. It is 414 acres and right next to the monkey reserve. If you would like to learn how cacao goes from fruit to the delicious chocolate you love to eat, this is the tour for you! End the tour with a freshly brewed cup of hot chocolate. The chocolates made from this plantation have won silver and gold medals in the International Chocolate Awards.
Sunset in El Tunco

El Tunco is a hot spot for surfing and nightlife. It is about 25 minutes from our place and the little town comes alive in the evenings. There are a lot of little shops, and restaurants along the boardwalk on the ocean, and has a fun and lively vibe. If you want a surf lesson, this is the best place to get one.
